Real estate firm JLL launches Sustainability Services in Thailand

Amornrut Det-Udomsap has been appointed to lead the new business

January 14, 2022

Climate change is a serious issue for life as we know it and further to COP 26 world leaders and corporates are coming together to try and devise a strategy to reduce the carbon emissions globally.  A growing number of private and public organizations are racing toward net-zero targets to help slow climate change. In response property consultancy JLL has launched Sustainability Services in Thailand to help property owners, investors and occupiers set and achieve their sustainability goals. The firm has also appointed Amornrut Det-Udomsap, one of the country’s most experienced sustainability professionals, to lead this exciting new business.

Michael Glancy, Country Head of JLL, says “The built environment is responsible for roughly 40% of global energy consumption and consequently represents a significant source of carbon emission. This explains why decarbonization of real estate is one of the top targets among responsible property owners, investors and occupiers.”

“We have already seen many multinational companies set sustainability targets. At JLL we have set a target to achieve net zero carbon emissions in our own buildings by 2030. We are also seeing leading Thai organizations setting their own targets and we expect this trend to rise in the years ahead and drive demand for expert advice. Together we will shape the future of real estate for a better world,” he adds.

JLL’s Sustainability Services will help clients on a consultancy basis to set and achieve their sustainability targets.  This covers a wide range of areas from design, construction, management and operation of sustainable real estate, be it commercial, residential or industrial buildings or workplaces.

Amornrut Det-Udomsap, a LEED accredited professional, DGNB* and a TREES** associate, has been appointed to lead JLL’s new business. She has brought with her more than 10 years of direct experience providing sustainability consultancy to many leading private and public organisations. One of the country’s most respected sustainability professionals, she has also been invited as a guest speaker and lecturer at various public forums and universities.

“JLL has the breadth and strength of its global sustainability platform of over 400 dedicated Sustainability professionals who we can use to partner with our clients in Thailand on the journey towards real estate carbon reduction and sustainability,” says Ms. Amornrut.
