Jones Lang LaSalle Partners with Central Laboratory for Q Building Program

The program aims to uplift property sanitation standards in Thailand

Bangkok, 7 April 2010 - Jones Lang LaSalle has entered into an agreement with Central Laboratory (Thailand) Co Ltd, Thailand’s largest laboratory service provider, to support the Q Building Program, a new initiative that aims to certify buildings whose sanitation standards meet the program’s accreditation criteria.
The program focuses on reviewing the sanitation level of a property by conducting laboratory testing to identify the quality of indoor air, water, food (if provided), and its overall environment.. The agreement has committed Jones Lang LaSalle to encourage its clients, which include more than 40 commercial and residential properties, to participate in the program. These Jones Lang LaSalle-managed properties have a combined total space of over 3.5 million sqm spread across Bangkok, Phuket, and Hua Hin.
Mrs. Suphin Mechuchep, Managing Director of Jones Lang LaSalle, says, “Q Building Program is a welcome initiative that helps establish property sanitation standards. It also encourages property owners to pay more attention to the quality of sanitation within their properties to provide a better quality of life for users of both commercial and residential buildings.”
Properties that would meet the Q Building Program’s accreditation criteria will be duly certified. For those that do not meet the criteria, Central Laboratory will provide the owners guidance and support that will help improve the sanitation on the property.
“We believe that the program will help our clients add value to their properties. If successful, the certification will become an additional selling point to attract more tenants or buyers,” adds Mrs. Suphin.
Commenting on the agreement, Mr. Vivat Vinicchayakul, Managing Director of Central Laboratory, says, “We chose Jones Lang LaSalle to be our partner because it is the largest property management service provider in Thailand with many high-profile properties under its management. We believe that Jones Lang LaSalle’s commitment to encourage its clients to get their properties accredited in the Q Building Program will inspire other property owners to join the program, particularly when they see the success of certified properties.”
One of Jones Lang LaSalle’s clients that has already expressed its intention to participate in the Q Building Program is the Government Pension Fund. The pension fund has three Grade A office buildings under its investment portfolio, Abdulrahim Place 990 Rama IV, Bangkok City Tower, and GPF Witthayu, all of which are currently being managed by Jones Lang LaSalle.
