Suncorp selects Jones Lang LaSalle as strategic services partner in Australia

3.7 million square feet contract covers commercial, industrial and retail

SINGAPORE, 6 JULY  2009 – Jones Lang LaSalle has been appointed to help leading diversified financial services organisation, Suncorp Group manage its Australian portfolio of commercial, industrial and retail property, with a total portfolio size of over 3.7 million square feet.

Under the partnering agreement, Jones Lang LaSalle will provide Suncorp with integrated corporate real estate services, such as facilities management, property transactions and real estate management, in addition to property and workplace management.

Jordi Martin, Managing Director, Integrated Facilities Management for Asia Pacific said this appointment cements Jones Lang LaSalle’s position as the leading provider of facilities management for the financial services industry in Asia Pacific.

“In the financial services sector, we manage 12 million sq ft of space for clients in Australia and more than 38 million sq ft on behalf of multi-national clients across Asia Pacific.

“This win is a testament to the work Jones Lang LaSalle has put into the development of its global Banking Industry Group, which provides specialist advice to the financial services sector.

“Our global knowledge and experience with financial services clients put us in a great position to be able to offer Suncorp quality research and development capabilities.

“This allows us to take technology innovation that is developed globally and apply that expertise locally,” Mr Martin said.

Peter Affleck, Suncorp’s Executive General Manager of Real Estate, said that the decision to partner with Jones Lang LaSalle was an important part of a strategic plan to maximise the commercial advantage of the Group’s property portfolio.

“We saw an opportunity to deliver a world-class strategic partnership that maximised operational, technology and business efficiencies across Suncorp’s real estate portfolio by integrating all services under one provider,” Mr Affleck said.

Chris Hunt, Head of Integrated Facilities Management in Australasia said the Suncorp contract was a business partnership that would run well into the next decade.

“This long-term agreement allows us to provide our services to Suncorp in a fully integrated fashion.

“As part of this service, Jones Lang LaSalle will provide Suncorp with a common real estate technology platform for all its properties, while also providing integrated portfolio management teams co-located with Suncorp’s Real Estate team to provide a seamless ‘one-team’ approach to supporting day-to-day operations.

“Jones Lang LaSalle will also provide its unique technology platform, OneView by Jones Lang LaSalle. This includes enabling the provision of help-desk services to Suncorp, to answer and action property management requests and queries,” Mr Hunt said.
